Pending Dates & Times For:

2022 Dates will be posted after 01 JAN 2022

The Chapter 989 Color Guard has a long and storied history serving the Northern Nevada community.  It is not uncommon to see 989 Color Guard members posting the Colors at the opening or closing of corporate events; civic events; Nevada Department of Veterans Services events; and sometime during Hot August Nights; or the Reno Air Races.  They also post colors for Veterans in Care (VIC) ceremonies in local Care Facilities honoring veterans who are recognized for their prior service to the country.  The Color Guard was also honored to have supported all aspects of the opening of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home in Sparks from the renaming of the street to “Battle Born Way,” to the grand opening of the facility in the spring of 2019. You can also see Chapter 989’s Color Guard and the Chapter’s “Signature” Flag Trailer in local parades and events throughout the year.

The Color Guard does not charge for its services but is supported by donations for our expenses. Note – Upon request the VVA 989 Color Guard is available for public events. If you’re organization is interested, please contact Color Guard Captain Ray Scow at rayscow1@gmail.com for details.
